ukiyo concepts is a newly established gallery in 2023, located in Honolulu, Hawai'i, founded by Sawako Takemura Chang, Ph.D. in Japanese art history, who hails from the ancient yet modern cultural mecca of Kyoto, Japan. With her background as an art curator, art historian, and art educator for more than 20 years, her long-time desire was to open a gallery featuring contemporary Japanese art and handicrafts for everyday use. Sawako loves to introduce Japan's long lasting traditions and artisanship with novel contemporary twists.
